Dr. Karin Bodossian
Doctor of Physical Therapy
It's great to meet you, I'm so glad you're here. Here's a little bit about me, and why I formed my practice...
About Me
My name is Karin Bodossian. I am a licensed physical therapist, and founder of Phase Physical Therapy and Wellness.
I have over a decade of experience working as a therapist, in general orthopedics, sports medicine (including semi pro and professional athletes), and pelvic health.
I am mother to two little boys, one delivered via C-section, one delivered via VBAC. They remind me every day why physical energy and health is vital.
Aside from physical therapist and mom, other valid descriptors could be: strength training advocate, devoted skier, weekend cyclist, outdoors enthusiast, and committed ice cream and pastry fan.
I consider myself to still be young, but I've lived enough to feel the sting when function and fun suffers because the body can't perform, or doesn't feel healthy. I am here to pull you from reactive treatment to proactive wellness so you can feel like yourself again.

My Clinical Philosophy
After spending years working in orthopedics, sports medicine, and pelvic health, I was always left feeling that something was missing. An orthopedic PT can treat back pain, but can they determine if pelvic floor dysfunction is contributing? A pelvic PT can treat your urinary incontinence, but can they train you well enough to return to marathon running without symptoms? A sports PT can talk to you about knee pain, but do they consider your hormone profile?
If you've ever been left feeling like your experience with physical therapy just didn't address every factor, or left some loose ends, you're not alone. Low back pain for a 50 year old woman is not the same as low back pain for a 25 year old man, nor should it be treated the same. You had your baby, and got "cleared" at 6 weeks post partum to return to all exercise, but do you feel safe and confident getting back to lifting heavy weights while you are still recovering? Are you having chronic prostatitis or UTI symptoms and no urologist can tell you why? Phase Physical Therapy was created to bridge the gap. No body part is "not my specialty" and no two patients, or treatment plans, are the same.
I am someone who has gone through "phases" of lifting 5x week, full days of skiing, cycling, to trying to maintain my health in pregnancy and feeling the rug pulled out from underneath in post partum x2, to quietly treating my own pelvic dysfunction and low back pain after deliveries, to signing up for my first Hyrox post children. I've always felt there needed to be someone who understands it all.
At Phase, the standard is truly comprehensive care that considers who each patient is, what stage of life they are in, and how that shapes their function and symptoms. Every treatment plan will guide you from severe symptoms to basic recovery and beyond, restoring optimal, peak performance.
